Chaps Sizing
Usually, the waist and length are adjustable, so the sizes are determined mainly by thigh size.  Thigh size is the circumference around the thickest part of the thigh.  For the most accurate fit, the customer should wear the jeans and boots they plan to wear while riding.  Chaps fit best over snug fitting jeans.  To reduce gaps, bunching or pinching, chaps should also fit somewhat snug.  They should not be loose or baggy in the thigh area, but still be comfortable and allow for easy movement. 

When worn properly, the waistband of the chaps should sit approximately one inch below the waistband of the rider’s pant.  To fit the length, be sure the customer is wearing riding boots.  Chaps should be long enough to reach the boot heel when sitting.  While sitting, mark the chaps at the correct length; then, using a sharp scissors, cut to length.  Since leather does not fray, they do not need to be hemmed.  Chaps are cuttable up to sx inches for a truly custom fit.
