About Vinyl, Diecut, and Decals
Frequently Asked Questions:
Die Cut means to use a razor to cut your design into solid colored solid vinyl, it is then weeded and only the image remains. This means that if placed on a window you can see thru the negative space of the decal. I then cover the vinyl with removable application tape.
How long does vinyl last?
Our vinyl is fade resistant, all weatherproof, won't crack chip or peel. It's average life span is 5-9 years with normal 'use'. However, usually much longer.
Are the decals permanent?
No, they are only permanent until you choose to remove them. Removing decal will also destroy it.
Are the decals hard to apply?
No, these decals are easy to apply and instructions will be included. Just peel the decal off with the application tape. Apply to clean surface. Rub the decals, on the a clean surface, then carefully peel off the application tape.
I got bubbles in my lettering, what should I do?
Use a sharp pointed razor knife, poke lightly in the center of the bubble and press around towards the hole. This will work the bubbles out. Also, it’s good to keep in mind, that if the bubbles are small and numerous, or changes in temperature either way (up or down), this can make the air pockets appear. So, again, if the bubbles are small, just give it a day or so - and they can go away on their own.
Is it difficult to remove the decal?
On glass, slide a razor blade under the decal. Do not try to use the razor on paint. Once removed any glue can be removed with glass cleaner. On painted surfaces a little bit more work. Pick and pick and pick with your finger nail. Heat will help it comes off better. The decal will come off without damage to the paint. Remove the glue with mineral spirits.
Is it OK for my windshield wipers to hit the decal?
It is not recomended under windshield wipers. They can pick up dirt and scratch even the windshield. And so they can scratch the decal.
