Fashion & Newspaper Come Together to Do Good
After months of sketching, stitching and sewing recycled newspaper, four leading green designers - Anthony Lilore, Bahar Shahpar, Lara Miller and Samantha Pleet - are auctioning off their newspaper-inspired designs to benefit their favorite green charities. Also up for grabs are three fashion-forward handbags inspired by winners of a national consumer handbag design contest and brought to life by Elias Abadi, president and head designer of Nahui Ollin, Candy Wrapper Handbags. All designs were created as part of Yesterday's News "Do-Gooder Design Challenge," an initiative created by the eco-friendly brand of cat litter which is made with recycled newspaper. The campaign celebrates the millions of cat owners across the country that make good green choices for their cats, home and environment all year.
