 Baseball on the Radio

Baseball on the Radio

 Maintained by:
WELCOME TO THE MOST EXTENSIVE COMMERCIAL MAJOR LEAGUE BASEBALL RADIO SITE ON THE INTERNET. Our broadcasts begin in the era of Babe Ruth. Major League Baseball no longer ends in October but can be heard 24/7/365 as you're transported to Ebbets Field, the Polo Grounds, Crosley Field,Griffith,Shibe..
First off, every selection listed is on standard audio cassettes, not on CDs. The last time I typed in "cassette recorders" on GOOGLE,about 1,510,000 results came up. So much for cassette players being impossible to get. And they run from $19.95 to whatever. My recorders are Sony handhelds @ $22 a piece. Sure, CDs are in vogue but keep in mind that when a team archives their games, they're on good old tape. I have MLB teams' tapes sent to MLB Properties and they're on CASSETTES; not on CDs. Furthermore, suppose you're listening to a game on tape and must stop. You pick up where it left off. Not so with CDs. Be prepared to relisten and hunt. Lastly, I have close to 3,000 game tapes on at least 6,000 45 min. cassettes. Digitizing must be in REAL TIME. You have 4,500 hours to spare? I don't. By the way, keep your cassettes in their plastic containers. If not, oxidation will eventually play havoc. Some of my master cassettes date back to the mid '60s; they're in plastic boxes and there's no degradation of anything. Additionally, we're in a recession. If I sold the games on CDs, I'd have to charge you over $20 + P&H. Compare that to my prices. You're saving 50%. Do I own CDs? You bet. Of what or whom? Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, Carrie Underwood, "The Jersey Boys," the Golden Oldies and plenty other musical selections and artists. For music, you can't beat CDs but I do HANDLE WITH GREAT CARE. At any rate, so far there are close to 2,000 selections on this site so how you gonna find what you seek? Want the simplest solutions? In the SEARCH box, simply type in your favorite team and what will come up will be games for THAT team dating back to the Civil War up to the turn of the new millennium. For Yankees, type in Yanks. For Phillies, type in Phils. And for the Cardinals, type in Cardinals, not Cards. The rest of the teams? Type in their regular, not shortened names. A second way of tracking down your item of interest is by simply typing in a year. When the pages come up, you will see ALL games played in that specific year i.e. regular, All Star and post-season. In other words, typing in the year produces a broad spectrum search unlike typing in the teams' names. Also if you might be looking for a certain broadcaster, don't type in their names. The selections weren't indexed by announcer but in every description of every game, you'll see who's broadcasting. You like Vin Scully, Red Barber, Bob Prince, Mel Allen e.g? You'll see their names mentioned but NOT on the subject line...in the DESCRIPTION. Hello out there..you now have baseball 365 days a year. I don't know about you but I get goosebumps when hearing Babe Ruth announced as he comes to bat. And the same for Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Hank Greenberg,Stan Musial,Jimmy Foxx, Al Simmons, Wille Mays,"The Duke of Flatbush" and on and on, Don't believe these game cassettes contain much nostalgia and power? Listen...you'll change your mind. One last item: we no longer ship to Canada because of an outrageous price hike by our USPS. We ask that a Canadian customer please provide a stateside address and we'll fill and ship the order. No insult meant to our great neighbor to the north!Lastly, every selection is CUSTOM MADE, not pre-packaged so take that into account when making a BEST OFFER.Finally, by contractual stipulation with MLB Properties, I cannot ship the tapes out of country except to Canada and American possessions. But I can ship to a stateside address that might be associated with the overseas buyer.
