FAQ
What does “New”, “Mint”,
“Great”, “Good”, and “Fair” mean?
The terms below describe how a calculator
or item looks. ALL items WORK.
New: Unopened and still in box. No Markings
or Dings
Mint: 0-1 markings or dings
Great: 2-3 markings or dings
Good: 3-5 markings or dings
Fair: 5+ markings or dings
CalcSwap’s terms above are not describing
the year the item was made; it describes the appearance of the calculator or
item.
Why will my calculator not
turn on?
All items are tested at least twice. Yes,
all items work. Make sure that the batteries are in the proper way meaning
the negative and positive are in the correct direction. Also, make sure you
are using new batteries that were just purchased from the store.
Why does the screen not turn
on?
If the calculator is turned on and the
screen is not displaying, the screen is set to the lightest setting. Press
the 2nd button and then hold the “up” arrow to make
the screen darker or 2nd and then the “down” arrow
to make the screen lighter. For the TI-89 press the green diamond button
right under the 2nd button and then press the plus
sign on the bottom right to make it darker or the negative sign to make it
lighter.
Does CalcSwap take their own
pictures?
Yes. All items we sell are with pictures
that we take. There is nothing worse than buying an item based on a photo,
and then having the item arrive to only notice it looks nothing like the
photo online. We state in the description,
We “Take Our Own” Pictures to ensure each
item is described to perfection. We believe a photo is worth a 1000 words.
May we pick up the items
that we buy from CalcSwap?
Unfortunately, all items must be mailed and
updated in PayPal with a tracking number for funds to be released to
CalcSwap.
How do I make the F5 key on
the TI-89 work?
The F5 key is the input/output key for any
program that you have in the calculator. It will only have a drop down menu
if the calculator has a program installed.
Why was the memory not
cleared?
CalcSwap does not erase the memory because
students may want the programs that are already on the calculator. It
is very time consuming to download each one and some even cost money.
It is much easier, and preferred by students to let them delete and keep
what they want.
Does CalcSwap offer a
warranty on items I buy?
All items can be returned 7 days after item
is received for a replacement if the item does not work.
Does CalcSwap offer an
extended warranty on items it sells?
CalcSwap has partnered with
square trade to offer extended warranties. Each item will have a square
trade logo at the bottom of each item page for more information on extended
warranties. Square trade will handle all questions and replacements if an
extended warranty needs to be activated.
Why can I not track my item?
Calcswap uses Delivery Confirmation Numbers
with USPS. The delivery confirmation numbers will only show information when
the item is received at the buyer’s post office. Remember, priority mail is
2-3 days and First Class is 2-5 days but usually gets there in 2-3 days.
