collectible Denise Calla Christmas Decorations

A couple years ago, we were given a group of 20 collectible Denise Calla ornaments and decorations that we found new homes for. Then we again were given a large collection of her more popular Santa ornaments and decorations for Christmas that Denise created in the late 1980s to the early 2000’s.  The owner had enjoyed these and was downsizing and wanted those that would appreciate them to have them in time for Christmas. We learned quite a bit about this artist!

This American artist’s work seemed to delight those who smile at her work! Her creations seem to be a touch of innocence and whimsy. In 1986, House of Hatten began reproducing her carved creations into blessings for us all as they cast them in resin and handpainted them.  She created different Santas with them until July 2003, when she retired from this artwork – the variety of Santas was something to look forward to! She created freestanding Santas that were very tall to little 2” ornaments all with such detail and character.

Many enjoy the art of Denise Calla but since her retirement, have has to look for her ornaments and decorations in the secondary market - places that the House of Hatten items can be found, such as the store of d'clutter sales! I don't have the largest collection in my store anymore but look in my Christmas collections at what is currently there!

note: After selling the Calla collection of a friend, I really missed the sweet spirited creations, so just at Christmas 2007, I purchased a Denise Calla angel that is a wonderful addition to my own collection of angels!
