Depression Glass is colored glassware, from the 1920's thru the end of World War 2. Normally, Depression Glass refers to the machine-made glass while "Elegant Glass" refers to a higher quality, frequently hand-blown or hand-molded glassware. Some companies continued to make the same patterns in the same colors or other colors thru the 1960's
Most glass though, that is considered by collectors and dealers to be Depression Glass or "colored glassware of the Depression Era" was made in the late 1920's (1926 on) and 1930's in to the 1st half of the 1940's.
The great thing about Depression Glass as a collection is it comes in every color of the rainbow! I'm partial to the cobalt blue items although any shade of blue will get my attention. I've also had but sold collections in green, pink, yellow, red and monax.
Here are some of the items I have listed at the moment: Green Depression Glass |
