An Vandevorst and Filip Arickx

An Vandevorst and Filip Arickx were drawn together by their love of fashion – and pretty quickly by their love for each other. Both designers were studying at Antwerp's historic Royal Academy of Fine Arts when they first met. After graduating, An Vandevorst first plied her trade under the watchful eye of Dries Van Noten. But by 1998 she had joined her husband and together they formed AF Vandevorst.

The couple have joined a long line of Belgian designers –
Dries Van Norten and Martin Margiela among them - whose work has graced the shoulders of the world's most beautiful people. For Spring 2008 the couple have opted for a selection of plastic trenches and macs, placed alongside some devilishly sexy lingerie featuring built in bra cup. As always with AF Vandevorst, it's a delight for the wearer – and the watcher…
