The thing that I have found with most ultra-lite top burner stoves on the market today is that they always feel "cheap". They are very flimsy and bend easily. They are made of only 2 layers; a top and a bottom inside of the top. Period! My top burner stoves are made with 3 layers. I use a double layer bottom half with the top half pressed over them. This makes for a much stronger stove without any significant weight increase.
The side burner stove is probably the easiest stove to operate: add fuel – light – wait for the side jets to “bloom” (about 1 minute) – and cook. The stove is also the pot stand so there isn’t any setup to do. It is very strong, it can support over 200 pounds.
These stoves are perfect for hikers, cycle tourists, BOB's (Bug Out Bags), or anyone who wants a simple, lightweight, sturdy, long lasting, easy way to boil water for meals or drinks.
