Terms & Conditions

By bidding or purchasing, all Buyers bidding or purchasing any of EuroLux Antiques listings acknowledge that they have completely read and agree to all terms and conditions stated in these policies. EuroLux Antiques has painstakingly developed these policies and procedures to protect the Buyer and EuroLux Antiques, and not reading these policies will not be accepted as an excuse for the Buyer’s dissatisfaction.

Descriptions Policy

We do not purchase or sell new reproduction furniture. All of our items are unique, vintage (under 100 years old) or antique (over 100 years old) pieces. We do our best to estimate the date of each piece honestly and accurately, but we are subject to mistakes from time to time. We make no guarantee as to age but merely provide these as a guideline for the convenience of the Buyer. Stated ages are generally within a range of plus or minus 20 years. If a Buyer has a specific question as to why a piece is dated as it is, we are happy to provide additional details that we used to determine our estimation of age. While EuroLux Antiques is quite versed on European pieces, we are not experts concerning each and every item we sell. We simply deal in too much volume and too many different pieces to know everything. No dealer can represent that they know everything about everything.

At EuroLux Antiques, our customer’s happiness is our top priority. For this reason, we go to great lengths to fully, honestly and accurately describe our collection in our listings. While we cannot guarantee the value of the piece you purchased in relation to your bid, we do guarantee that each piece was hand-selected by us personally and meets the EuroLux Antiques definition of high quality and value. We do not sell on approval or subject to appraisal.

If there is any damage, repairs or excessive wear on a piece affecting its beauty or value, EuroLux Antiques tries to clearly note that in the description. However, please keep in mind that many of our pieces are hand-carved and slight imperfections in carving are part of the nature of hand-crafted works and add to the beauty of the piece. Also, we ask you to remember that there is no such thing as a “new” antique or vintage item. Normal wear and usage marks and gradations in color associated with these items are to be expected, and in fact, appreciated. These “beauty marks” are how one tells a true antique or vintage piece from a new reproduction. We try our best to disclose any major repairs of which we are aware. Minor repairs are common and to be expected in vintage and antique pieces, and if we do not feel that the repair affects the value or the beauty of the piece, it may not be disclosed. We represent that all of our items have been well-loved and meet our EuroLux Antiques high-quality standards.

Color Reproduction

We have made every effort to reproduce colors on this site as accurately as possible. However, not all computer monitors are calibrated in the same way, and therefore color variations may occur from one monitor to the next. If you are not satisfied with the color of any item you have ordered, please let us know and we’ll strive to find an agreeable solution.

By bidding or purchasing, Buyer agrees that s/he has read and willingly accepts the Descriptions Policy as stated in this policy by EuroLux Antiques.

Return Policy

Returns are accepted. Refunds will be issued at the end of the month in which the returned item is received by EuroLux Antiques. Buyer must return the item via the same carrier and shipping method used during original shipping. Insurance is required.

EuroLux Antiques must receive the item in the same condition in which it was sent. Buyer is responsible for properly packing the item. Returned items damaged due to improper packing will not be eligible for a refund. Returned items received in damaged condition due to fault of the carrier will be subject to insurance claims process. Buyer is responsible for handling these claims, as the Buyer initiated the shipment. No refund by EuroLux Antiques will be issued due to the potential for insurance claim settlement. We invite your communication in these matters.

We do not issue credit or refunds on shipping and handling costs to or from your destination. In the case of Free Shipping listings, EuroLux Antiques will deduct the actual cost of packaging, shipping and handling from the refund amount. Buyer is responsible for all return shipping costs and fees, including insurance. EuroLux Antiques, charges a 15% restocking fee with a minimum of $10.00 US for any returned item. Refund checks will be issued net of this restocking fee.

At EuroLux Antiques our customers’ satisfaction is our top priority. Accordingly, we try at all costs to avoid returns. The Buyer is encouraged to ask as many questions prior to purchase as possible to avoid having to return an item.

By bidding or purchasing, Buyer agrees that s/he has read and willingly accepts the Return Policy as stated in this policy by EuroLux Antiques.

Buyers with zero or negative feedback should contact EuroLux Antiques directly to introduce themselves to us. EuroLux Antiquesreserves the right to cancel any bid or purchase for any reason and to end any listing at any time.

Buyer agrees that they will contact EuroLux Antiques prior to leaving any negative feedback so that a suitable solution can be reached prior to leaving negative feedback.

Shipping for Non-Furniture Items (Contiguous US)

We take great care in packing and shipping your purchases. Please keep in mind that packing fragile and irreplaceable vintage and antique items is not a quick or cheap endeavor. Proper packaging is expensive and bulky and takes a great deal of time to do the job correctly. Most packages will be sent through UPS or FedEx, however Greyhound is often more economical for larger and heavier items. United States Postal Service Priority International will be used for international shipments.

Because most of the items at EuroLux Antiques are irreplaceable, we insure ALL shipped orders. Insurance is required on all packages sent by EuroLux Antiques.

In the unlikely event that damage is evident upon receipt of an order left at your door, please keep all packing material and report the damage to us immediately so that we can make a claim against the insurance policy. Digital photos from as many angles as possible are encouraged as evidentiary documentation of the condition of the package and item upon receipt. We reserve the right to request the return of damaged items.

If the delivery driver is present, you have the right to inspect any package you receive, particularly if the exterior of the package appears not to be in good condition. We encourage you to inspect a seemingly damaged package prior to signing for its receipt as additional protection for the Buyer in the event of loss. If you refuse the shipment due to obvious damage, we encourage Buyer to take digital photos from as many angles as possible. If you receive the package in a damaged condition and the driver is present, you have the right to refuse receipt and send it back to us at the carrier’s expense. In order for the carrier to ship the package back to EuroLux Antiques free of charge, Buyer must have the driver sign off that the package was damaged or mistreated in transit. Please follow these guidelines carefully in case you need to file a claim or refuse a shipment. If you have any questions about signing off for a shipment from us, please call us at 803-276-4001.

EUROLUX ANTIQUES MUST BE NOTIFIED OF CLAIMS IN WRITING WITH PICTURES AND DETAILS WITHIN 7 DAYS OF DELIVERY. EMAIL IS ACCEPTABLE FOR THESE PURPOSES.

In the event that Greyhound is used as the carrier, the Buyer understands that the item must be picked up at the nearest Greyhound terminal. We will inform you of that location prior to shipping the item.

Depending on the shipping method, most items should be received with ten days of full payment. Greyhound shipments can take as long as 2 to 3 weeks. We are always glad to answer your questions or provide you with tracking numbers. We are a small, family-owned business and our aim is to get your purchase to you as quickly as possible, as safely as possible. Delays occasionally can occur due to not having the correct packaging material on hand or missing our regularly scheduled packaging pickup or drop off. We ask your consideration in matters such as these, and we try to communicate with you when delays push delivery out longer than our customers should normally anticipate. We value your inquiries should you have any questions or concerns at any time during our shipping process.

EuroLux Antiques thoroughly inspects each item before it is released to the carrier. Our responsibility is limited to making sure the item is in the advertised condition at the time the carrier takes possession of the item. EuroLux Antiques will not be held responsible for damages occurring in-transit or during delivery and set-up. Insurance will be secured with the carrier on the customer's behalf. While we are happy to assist our customers in filing claims, we are in no way affiliated with the carriers and bear no responsibility or influence over the final determination of the claim. Per federal interstate commerce law, the carriers maintain the right to repair pieces damaged in transit. The carrier's decision regarding method, manner, and timing of repair is final. Should the customer refuse the shipment after repair, EuroLux Antiques will deem refusal of delivery acceptance to be a return and will be handled in strict accordance with our Return Policy. Customers are responsible for reading this Return Policy before purchasing from EuroLux Antiques. We encourage the Buyer to thoroughly inspect each item upon receipt and notify the delivery personnel of any damage found.

Shipping, handling and insurance charges are based on the weight and size of the individual piece, the distance to be shipped, and the value of the purchase. EuroLux Antiques strictly reserves the sole right to determine when and if shipments can be combined due to excess size, weight or fragility which makes it unwise or uneconominal to combine shipping. All shipping, handling and insurance charges are at the customer’s expense and are stated in the description. If no shipping amount is stated in the description, please contact EuroLux Antiques for a quote. If you have any questions about shipping, please call 803-276-4001 or email info@EuroLuxAntiques.com

Shipping for Furniture (Contiguous US)

We ship your larger furniture purchases by working only with reputable blanket-wrap shipping companies that specialize in handling antiques to pack and ship your order within the contiguous United States. Most items will be delivered within 3 to 6 weeks of full payment, but can take as long as 8 weeks. The delay is due to using consolidated shipping services to provide the Buyer with the most economical method of transportation available. If you cannot wait this long to receive your item, please do not bid or contact us to arrange expedited shipping. Of course, expedited shipping will be a considerably higher cost that consolidated shipping. We cannot guarantee delivery dates once we have given the item over to the carrier, as the item is no longer in our control.

EuroLux Antiques ships smaller pieces of furniture, such as nightstands, chest of drawers, and sets of chairs, by Greyhound. In the event that Greyhound is used as the carrier, the Buyer understands that the item must be picked up at the nearest Greyhound terminal. We will inform you of that location prior to shipping the item.

Greyhound shipments can take as long as 2 to 3 weeks for delivery after full payment. We are always glad to answer your questions or provide you with tracking numbers.

In most cases larger pieces of furniture such as buffets and armoires can be disassembled to make transportation easier. Our carriers will deliver the piece(s) into your home, will assemble the pieces for you, and will remove all packing materials. If you prefer to assemble pieces yourself, we’re happy to help walk you through the process over the phone.

All furniture ships FOB EuroLux. This means that the customer owns the piece at the time it is tendered to the carrier and all risk of loss transfers to the customer at that point. EuroLux will not be deemed to have any further financial or insurable interest or responsibility once the item is tendered to the carrier. Shipping, handling and insurance charges are based on the weight and size of the individual piece, the distance to be shipped, and the value of the purchase.
