Irek’s Toys and Trains specializes in pre-owned and out of production items only.  We are not authorized dealers. Our items come from estates, dealers, collectors, and hobbyists who bought too much, and the wife insisted they sell some things or risk investing in a new kitchen remodel. Below, you will find our grading standards. Please take a minute to familiarize yourself. 

Sealed - Any item that is sealed, and has never been opened. The item might show shelf wear or sign of being handled, but is to be considered complete as it came from the manufacturer.

Like-New/Unused – Any item that has been opened, but appears unused. This item should have no blemishes, and show no signs of being ran, displayed, fiddled with, or otherwise, used. Item should fully function as it was intended to. All original parts and paperwork are included. Any item that has simply been opened to look at will fall under this category. Please note, some locomotives are test-run at the factory. Some "unused" locomotives may show minor wheel wear because of this. Box, if applicable, may show shelf wear, but should be included in order to grade as unused.

Excellent/Test-ran or Displayed only –This item should show no sign of prolonged use, other than being test-ran or displayed. Rolling stock and locomotives might show minute wheel wear. All items that are graded here should have nothing broken, scratched, or otherwise, abused. Item should be all original, and include all parts. Item should function as it was intended to. Box may or may not be included.

Very Good – Any item that shows minor signs of handling, wheel wear, or otherwise, general use. The item may have minor parts replaced, but should hold true to the original function of the item. Item should function as it was intended to. Box is not a factor.

Good – Any item that shows signs of heavy use, has minor knicks or scratches, or heavy wheel wear. May have parts that are in need of repair. May have missing parts. Any locomotive that needs a tune-up or runs poorly falls under this category. Box is not a factor.

Fair/Parts– Any item that is need of repair, heavily abused, scratched, dented, missing parts, broken, or all of the above. '

Junk- Any item that is beyond repair, and can be used for parts only
