Step 1: Using a credit card scrape down the decal with the transfer paper side up. Transfer paper is the paper that is sticky on one side and normal paper on the other.
Step 2: Wipe down the application surface with a damp cloth. Try to remove all dust and grease that may be on the surface. If you are applying to a car just wash it as per usual. Let it dry.
Step 3: If any of the transfer paper has been wrapped around the edge of the backing paper undo this. I did this to protect the decal while it was in the post.
Step 4: There should be a straight edge along the decal. If there is not using a craft knife or scissors cut a straight line along the edge of the sticker (be careful to only cut the backing paper and transfer paper and none of the actual sticker). Put a strip of sticky tape along this new edge.
Step 5: Stick the decal onto the surface with the transfer paper side up. You can now move the decal around by unsticking the tape until you get into the desired position. Tip: if applying to a Apple Laptop open the lid to light up the logo.
Step 6: Flip the decal over using the tape as a hinge, this should allow you to remove the backing paper. If any pieces of the decal stick to the backing paper press them back onto the transfer paper. Crease the sticky tape to make it a better hinge.
Step 7: Spray a VERY fine mist on the decal. As fine as you can get. Practice on a window first. Use water and an old table spray bottle. This step can be skipped if it is a small decal with mainly thin pieces. I suggest it for larger decals with thick pieces (more the 2cm thick).
Step 8: Apply the decal (if you used water you should be able to slide it around slightly) and scrape over with a credit card using a firm amount of force. This will remove any air/water bubbles and make the decal stick to the surface. Scrape from centre out.
Step 9: Once all water has been removed peel transfer paper slowly, if any pieces of decal stick to transfer paper reapply that piece of transfer paper and peel back from another angle. Always wipe away excess water.
Step 10: If there are any air bubbles left scrape them out. I suggest using a credit card covered in some cloth to avoid scratching the decal. If you did use water, leave the surface in a warm area or in the sun. This will evaporate any excess water|
