As you consider buying a car from us, I thought it might
be helpful to tell you a little more about how we work at Marietta Sportscar.
To begin with, we purchase cars that we think offer very
high value. We typically focus on European sport / luxury cars in the under
$30,000 price range. We’re looking for the nicest cars that we can find, while
recognizing that you won't buy it unless
it's a good value. Sometimes we’ll buy a high mileage car that’s very nice and priced very
attractively. Sometimes we pay (and charge) the extra
that it takes buy low mileage cars. We buy our cars from local dealer auctions
and from local dealers as they come in on trade. The weather
here insures that cars from our area are the best anywhere! In any case,
we try to always offer good, clean, sound and interesting cars for less than
they should be worth. So far, this formula has worked very
well for us.
We are one of the very few independent dealers selling online
that actually has a full service department. We do a complete inspection,
and repair anything that we feel should be repaired. If it needs brakes, we do
them. If the air conditioning doesn’t work, we fix it (or
disclose it). Over these past years,
our customers have indicated a willingness to pay a little more money for a car
that is sound. We can’t, however, make them new again. If, for example, the
digital clock in a Jaguar doesn’t work (and many of them don’t), it’s hard to
justify spending $350 to fix it. If an
older Mercedes-Benz has a minor power steering
leak (and they all do) we generally don’t fix it.
It won't hurt anything. Of course, if
we find a significant leak or other problem, we fix it.
The oil and filter will be fresh. We use the standard of “If
it was my car and my money…” . Unless stated otherwise, we
always repair any safety-related issues that we find. We can also provide
a full range of optional services, from detailed preventative maintenance
procedures to custom wheels and tires.
We have developed relationships with the best
vendors in Atlanta that help with our cosmetic
reconditioning, as well. Unless we've stated otherwise,
your car will have been professionally
detailed. We have small dents and dings removed with a “paintless dent removal”
technique. We have minor scratches and paint chips professionally retouched.
Small “stars” in windshields are repaired. Minor interior flaws are repaired.
While we might not be able to make used cars new, we can make nice cars
really nice!
When we offer a car, we will make every effort to describe the car as
accurately as we can. We use a lot of photos so you can
develop
a good mental picture of the vehicle. We'll describe the significant weaknesses as well as the strengths.
We'll
disclose anything negative that we know or find out (previous damage, etc.). We
will, however, occasionally fail to mention a scuff on a wheel lip, a light
scratch on a bumper, a seeping valve cover gasket, or a spot on the floor mats. Sometimes it's because we
simply didn't notice it, other times we may have judged a minor flaw to be commercially
insignificant. What we find acceptable or insignificant on a '95 model car
with 150,000 miles will likely be different than what we find acceptable on
an '05 model with 15,000
miles. Please call us. Talk with us. Share your concerns and
questions with us. We'll all be happier.
We like for our customers to pick up their cars at our
shop. We will gladly meet you at Atlanta International Airport, or any of the
local regional airfields. We’ll have your car clean and ready for your return
trip. This also gives us a chance to address any concerns or problems while you
are here. We have found that we achieve a higher degree of satisfaction with
customers that pick their cars up here - shippers
often deliver the car much later than they said they would, the car is dirty
when it arrives, it has a dead battery, etc., and our customers are unhappy before they ever even see
their purchase! We know that not every customer can pick up their car from us. If you
must have your car shipped, we will happily accommodate you – BUT – remember,
having a car shipped requires an extra measure of patience and understanding on
your part. If for any reason you don’t like what you
receive, you have two days to notify us and initiate returning it for a full
refund. Obviously, we cannot be responsible for freight.
When you get your car, you will
have a temporary tag good for thirty days. Typically, you (or
your lender) will receive title to your purchase
within 21 days via FedEx.
It seems that the vast majority of our
customers really like the way we do business.
Please
remember that we are selling used cars – a product that is,
by definition, less than perfect – and we are not the answer for
every potential customer. If you suspect that you may be a
prospective buyer that has
unusually high expectations, please proceed with
caution. Call us, ask questions, get
comfortable - before you buy. After talking with you, we
can probably advise you as to whether you’ll be happy. We’ve done this a lot of times, and I
like to think that we’re pretty good at it.
Many of our cars come standard with a
limited 3 month / 3,000 mile protection policy. Some cars will have remaining
factory warranty. Many will be available with optional extended service
agreements. As relates to the
FTC's "Used
car Rule", however, we sell all cars
"As-Is", without any warranty of any kind.
Even still, if you aren’t happy with
your purchase you can return it. We’ll gladly give you a
full refund as long as you initiate the process within 2 days of receiving your
purchase.
Our quality control, service, and return policy put us at
the very forefront of dealers selling used vehicles online. We feel that
if you don’t like buying your used car from us, you probably shouldn’t buy a
used car!
If you think that you are the kind of buyer
that will enjoy buying a used car this way,
let's get started! We look
forward to having you as a customer!
