I prefer PayPal or money orders/bank drafts. I will accept personal checks however they can take a long time to clear. I will wait until the check has cleared before I ship the item as I have had some people bounce checks on me in the past.
Sellers have the right to set their own prices independently, but some manufacturers place restrictions on how these prices will be displayed or communicated to others.
