Q: I AM NEW TO EBAY AND NOT SURE WHAT I AM DOING. CAN YOU HELP ME?

A:Absolutely! I love to help out newbies so don't hesitate to ask if you had questions. I have sold to several first-time buyers and they have all been very pleased with their experience so don't feel shy - ask away!

 

Q:WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?

A:Returns are accepted with most items if shipped back within 7 days of receipt. Payment will be refunded in full, however, shipping/handling cost is NOT refundable. Item must be returned in original packaging. Please see individual ads for return policies.

 

Q:DO YOU COMBINE SHIPPING?

A:Most times, yes. There are exceptions. Please read over the individual ads and email me with any questions about this. Also, if purchasing more than one item, chances are I WILL combine shipping so email me BEFORE sending payment to receive the corrected shipping total. If you do not do this and send full payment, it will not be refunded.

 

Q:WHEN CAN I EXPECT MY ORDER TO ARRIVE?

A:I normally ship within 72 hours of receiving payment for an item. Sometimes it will ship the same day. If you need it fast, please let me know. Priority shipping will get it to you faster than parcel post, also, however occasionally there have been delays with Priority shipping. I do use delivery confirmation which has a tracking number.

 

Q:HOW MUCH IS THE SHIPPING AND HANDLING CHARGE?

A:Normally shipping cost is figured by zip code. Please use the calculator provided to find the amount for each item. Handling charges are anywhere from $0 - $5.00 depending on the fragility of the item. The more packing materials needed, the higher the cost but I try very hard to keep it reasonable and I do NOT overcharge to cover my costs. I do pack VERY carefully and have never had anything break in transit. I do recommend insurance, however, and I require it on expensive and/or vintage fragile items. 

 

Q:HOW WELL DO YOU PACK YOUR SHIPMENTS? SHOULD I BUY INSURANCE COVERAGE?

A:As far as insurance coverage, that is up to the customer. Normally I suggest it if the item is very fragile even though I do pack VERY well using packing peanuts and bubble wrap liberally. Still, accidents happen. As far as loss of the merchandise, I always use tracking numbers, too, which can be used to hunt down the package if it goes astray.

You may notice the box you receive is in "used" condition. I try to recycle wherever possible. My packing peanuts and bubble wrap are obtained from companies in my area that do not reuse them as are my boxes unless it is a Priority shipment. Wherever possible, I try to conserve and reuse although all merchandise is packed well and as if it was a new item.

Q:WHAT SHIPPING METHOD/COMPANY DO YOU USE?

A:Most times USPS is used - Priority and Parcel Post are the most common. However, I can use UPS or FedEx. For very heavy and/or large packages, I prefer FedEx Ground because it saves my customers money.I have used UPS at the customer's request, also.  I can give shipping quotes if asked for various services. I do use Delivery Confirmation to insure proper delivery.

 

Q:DO YOU SHIP INTERNATIONALLY?

A:Most times, yes. I have shipped to Canada, Rome, Spain, Hong Kong and other places. I try to get the best price I can for you for shipping. Under 4 pounds packages can be shipped First Class International. Please email me if you live outside the U.S. and wish to purchase an item. I will see what I can do for you!

 

Q:I LIVE IN ANOTHER COUNTRY. WHEN YOU SHIP MY ORDER PLEASE PUT "NO VALUE" ON THE CUSTOMS FORM SO I DO NOT NEED TO PAY DUTY ON THE ITEM I HAVE PURCHASED.

 

A:Please do not ask me to do this. This could cause problems for me since it is fraud and I am not willing to lose my business to save someone a few dollars. If you are concerned about this, please contact your customs office to find out the amount of duty you might need to pay on an item purchased internationally. Each package which is shipped has a packing slip with the amount paid clearly stated and a customs form which will also list exactly how much the item cost. I will not compromise on this. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

 

Q:IS YOUR MERCHANDISE NEW?

A:Some items are, some aren't. I deal in all sorts of merchandise: new, used and vintage.  Please read the individual ads for all details. For used merchandies, I try to be as accurate as possible in descriptions. At times, there may be a difference of opinion as to the condition of the item. I can always email additional pics, if requested, to help keep that from happening.

From time to time I receive email from other people about my listings. Some are friendly and helpful. Since I don't claim to be an expert in all areas, this help is appreciated. However, I do not list anything without being sure of the information posted. For instance, the locks I am listing are the property of a locksmith and collector. All information has been obtained from him. If you have questions or do not agree with the listing you can certainly take it up with him but I would not post it unless I was certain the information is correct.

 

Q: I AM NOT HAPPY WITH MY PURCHASE. WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS?

 

A: I do have a return policy on most of my items however it does not cover the cost of returning the item. I am a small business owner and really can't afford to do this which is why I encourage questions before the item is purchased. If you are unhappy for any reason, though, please contact me and let me know what the problem is. There are options and something can usually be worked out to both our satisfaction.

A note about feedback: please contact me before you leave feedback if you are unhappy. Let's see what we can do about the problem. If it is simply that you don't care for the product, though, please don't leave negative or neutral for that reason. Feedback is a reflection on MY services - the cost of the item, the cost of shipping, the speed of shipping, communication, etc. NOT how you like or dislike the item itself.

I really do care about keeping my customers satisfied and happy with their transactions with me.
