My name is Scott Freilich. Until my recent retirement, I owned and operated Top Shelf Music in Buffalo, NY for 35 years. My shop specialized in vintage guitars and guitar restoration. I was factory authorized to repair Martin, Fender, Gibson, Guild, and Gretsch since 1979. Over the years I've seen, owned, and played just about every cool vintage guitar that was ever made. After getting bored with seeing yet another custom colored Pre CBS Strat, I developed a taste for the bizarre. That perversion evolved into a passion. Over the years I authored over 200 columns for magazines; contributing over 180 editions of the "Oddballs" column to the now out of print 20th Century Guitar and several under "Pawn Shop Find" to Germany's Gitarre & Bass. I've also been listed in the credits books for my contributions to books on Washburn, Epiphone, Kay, Gretsch, and Sunburt Les Pauls. Over the years I've played bass on a semi professional level, having recorded with artists like Ani DiFranco.
