When you buy from Phoenix Trading Company, you are supporting our ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility.

Here's what we are doing…

Packaging

The boxes and padded mailers used to ship your orders are made with some recycled materials. We're aiming for a minimum of 30%. We also re-use the packing materials from inbound shipments. Most of our packaging is recyclable.

Shipping

Phoenix Trading Company is proud to announce that we are part of the first climate neutral mailing service in the US, DHL Global Mail's GOGREEN Carbon Offset service.

Harmful CO2 emissions are an unavoidable by-product of shipping your orders. For every shipment (through the US Mail), Phoenix Trading Company contributes a portion of the shipping cost to a series of verified* climate protection projects** through the GOGREEN program. Our diploma and certificate verify our participation in the program.

Climate protection projects include:

  • Hydropower plants in Brazil
    A hydropower station in Mato Grosso harnesses the force of the Juruena River to generate clean energy. The project replaces diesel generators responsible for generating 20,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually.
  • Biomass power plant in India
    Agricultural waste is burned to generate electricity. The resulting ashes are used as fertilizer. The project is certified by the UN as CER Gold standard.

Trash

We recycle all of our paper, cardboard, glass, metals, and plastic, which includes lots of damaged video game cases.

In the Office

All office paper is being recycled, along with printer and copier toner cartridges. We are also using programmable thermostats for controlling heating systems.

** Recognized by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change
