|  | | The newly revised “Periodic Table in Earth and Sky,” copyright 2005, is a terrific full-color poster which will prove invaluable for those interested in: Chemistry; Earth Science; Mineral Collecting; Meteorites; Astronomy; Physics; Technology; and, the History of Science.
Although there are many periodic table posters and tools available, the new “Periodic Table in Earth and Sky” poster shows many more fascinating things, such as a picture of the "rain" that killed the dinosaurs. Under the element Iridium is an image showing actual iridium-rich "fallout" spherules thrown from the giant asteroid that, 65 million years ago, created the Chicxulub Crater, in the Yucatan Peninsula, Mexico.
Some elements are quite common, but others are so rare that only microscopic specimens are available for study. For certain elements, there are NO examples of minerals on Earth.
