A Quick Guide to Reproductions…
What do we reproduce?: Only the rare, long out of print publications that are desired by collectors or those who want to read these wonderful bits of history.
What do we NOT reproduce?: Any publication that is current, protected by copyright, or readily available in its original form.
What about copyright laws?: We do not reproduce ANYTHING that is covered by copyright protection. The publications we reproduce are so old and outdated that the copyrights have long since expired and the Society sees no need to renew them. They are now in the public domain and completely legal to reproduce. Beware of anyone that reproduces any item printed after the mid-1940's! These publications are still under copyright. There are a few who do reproduce them, and that is illegal!
What is a "reprint"?: When we use this term in a listing, we are referring to something that has been completely reprinted. It is done by transcribing the text from the original, retyping it, reformatting it, and printing it as a new booklet. These match the original word for word, but may look slightly different in page size and paragraph alignment. They are best for those who want a crisp, clear edition.
What is a "reproduction"?: When we use this term in a listing, we are referring to an actual copy of the original page. These are often not as crisp and clear as a "reprint", but they are best for those who want to see the actual page, not just read the words. Some also like these because they give the reader increased confidence that the words are authentic, as a photocopy can not be altered like a transcript can.
Are your reproductions authentic?: Yes. We can say this because, unlike others on ebay, we only reproduce books that we own in their original form, or have access to. We do not simply take something off the internet and assume it is authentic. This is very important because we do not want to give a collector something that has been altered in any way.
Below are some of most popular reproductions... |
