GEM: Shells without blemish or flaws, shells that are adult and of average size and live taken.
F+++: Shells with minor blemish or flaw that in no way detracts from the beauty of the specimen.
F++: Shells with noticeable blemishes which do not detract from the beauty of the specimen, shells are adult and average size.
F+: Shells with growth lines and nacre blemishes. These shells display well and represent good value for the species.
FINE: Shells with chip, juvenile or fresh dead.
